The right mindset can change the world. The mindset you choose determines the life you will live.

I want to introduce you to a friend of mine. His name is Morris Matadi.

During the Liberian revolution Morris was a young child living a typical life with his mother, father and younger sister. His father had retired from the Liberian army and took up farming. Having to relocate because of the revolution, the family was forced to travel across the country. During their journey they encountered several checkpoints. It was at one of these checkpoints that Morris’s life changed forever.

During a scuffle Morris became separated from his family. Shortly thereafter as his father, mother and sister were being processed, it was discovered that Morris’s father had served in the Liberian army. That discovery led to the execution of his father, his mother, and his younger sister.

Morris was left alone for days hiding and scavenging for food just to survive. Eventually he was discovered by the revolutionary army and was going to be executed. There were bigger plans for Morris because a Revolutionary Army officer decided to take Morris into his personal interest. Morris was introduced into the life of a child soldier. As a child he was taught how to do the horrible things adult soldiers do to their enemies.

His story is typical of thousands of children and young adults during the revolutionary war. Many of them were forced to become addicted to drugs so the acts they were forced to commit could be tolerated.

The bigger plan for Morris is now in full view. Morris has dedicated his life to transform the thousands of children and young adults currently in the same situation into citizens making a positive contribution to society.

He is doing this through his organization IDEFOCS and the organization RILO Foundation with the approval and guidance of the Liberian Ministry of Education.

I was introduced to Morris by our mutual friend and fellow humanitarian Spryte Loriano. The 501c3 Helping Hugs For Children has been assisting Morris achieve his goal. HHFC is accepting tax deductible donations that will go to help Morris and RILO continue to make this transformation possible. Our current needs will be applied toward the annual Christmas party that will provide food, clothing and gifts more than 500 children.

I ask that you please support our efforts by making a tax-deductible donation here and like and share this to promote this noble cause.
