Children are the future of our world. All children deserve opportunities to thrive regardless of the circumstances they’re born into or that they’re forced to endure. We give children and youth opportunities to learn, grow, and create more empowering lives for themselves, their families and their communities.  These beautiful young people are born into dire poverty with nothing and no access to opportunities and resources. Though they come from families and villages that are desperately poor, their souls shine as brightly as the sun with hope and dreams for bright, happy futures. When provided with opportunities to learn and contribute in meaningful ways, they are eager to help and to do whatever they can to help their people.

Even those who’ve lived through the depths of hell on earth have spirits that beg for peace and happiness. Most of us cannot fathom the pain, torture and despair that these youngsters have lived through in their short lives and even through all of the turmoil and heartache, they long for more. They long for better lives where someday they’ll be able to have happy, healthy families. They long to help their communities escape the ravages of poverty that education offers. And they long for the peace of mind that most of us in first world nations take for granted every day of our lives.
